Bike Check Day Information

Bike Check will take place between 9am and noon this coming Saturday (16 November) at the top of Siena Avenue.  A map can be found HERE.

There will be desks (arranged by age group) where all participants should line up and collect their bike numbers (if bringing their own bike), helmet stickers and timing tags.

After collecting the bike number (if you have your own bike) you will then need to go to the bike check.  The registration team will direct you.  Please ensure your bike is in good condition and ready for the Race.

With over 900 competitors there will be no time to provide personal bike servicing at the Bike Check and any sub-standard bikes will be refused for safety reasons. Here is a checklist of what should be done before you come to the check:

  a. Check both brakes
  b. Pump tyres
  c. Check that all gears work
  d. Oil the chain if necessary
  e. Adjust saddle height to suit the rider

After the bike check, the final thing is to collect your shirt.  You will need your helmet sticker to identify your team number to the shirt team.

If you are hiring a bike from Lung Kee, you only need to collect your helmet sticker and timing tags and then your shirt.  If you are hiring a helmet you can collect it also from the T-shirt desk.  Rental helmets will also be available on Race Day at the start at the enquiry desk.  Your bike will be in position waiting for you on Race Day.

If you are collecting shirts on behalf of other team-mates, please ensure you know their sizes.  Here is a chart of T Shirt sizes- chart.  The shirts are the same size as last year.

Important Note for those collecting items on behalf of others:  The timing tags are numbered for individual team members – when you give them out please match the ankle tag number with the helmet sticker number otherwise the timers at the finish will think a hybrid child has crossed the finish line!
