The Race

The Wellcome Team FEAR Junior Challenge is an adventure race for young people aged between 8 and 18.  It is held in Discovery Bay at the end of November every year.

Teams swim, run, mountain bike, coasteer, jump into water and solve puzzles around Discovery Bay.

An important part of the Race is the sponsorship that competitors raise for the charity Youth Outreach.  For the last few years we have been able to give over HK$100,000 to the Charity.

There are three age groups with the following categories:

Juniors (Teams of 3)
Under 9 (aged 8 on the day of the race)
Under 10 (aged 9 on the day of the race)
Under 11 (aged 10 on the day of the race)
 
Intermediates (Teams of 2)
Under 12 (aged 11 on the day of the race)
Under 13 (aged 12 on the day of the race)
 
Seniors (Teams of 2)
Under 14 (aged 13 on the day of the race)
Under 16 (aged 15 or under on the day of the race)
Under 19 (aged 18 or under on the day of the race)

Congratulations to all Team FEAR competitors!  

You ran a fantastic race this year despite it being very hot.  You completed the course in some amazing times and with big smiles despite the hot weather and the challenging course.  We're glad you all enjoyed yourselves.

Change of venue for Bike Check
Friday, 25th November 2011

Due to circumstances outwith our control we have had to move the Bike Check to the hardstanding beside the petrol garage (see map).

It is a couple of hundred yards from the Marina Helipad so should not make any difference to those attending the Bike Check.
