The Race

The Wellcome Team FEAR Junior Challenge is an adventure race for young people aged between 8 and 18.  It is held in Discovery Bay at the end of November every year.

Teams swim, run, mountain bike, coasteer, jump into water and solve puzzles around Discovery Bay.

An important part of the Race is the sponsorship that competitors raise for the charity Youth Outreach.  For the last few years we have been able to give over HK$100,000 to the Charity.

There are three age groups with the following categories:

Juniors (Teams of 3)
Under 9 (aged 8 on the day of the race)
Under 10 (aged 9 on the day of the race)
Under 11 (aged 10 on the day of the race)

Intermediates (Teams of 2)
Under 12 (aged 11 on the day of the race)
Under 13 (aged 12 on the day of the race)

Seniors (Teams of 2)
Under 14 (aged 13 on the day of the race)
Under 16 (aged 15 or under on the day of the race)
Under 19 (aged 18 or under on the day of the race)

Charity

An important element of participating in Team FEAR is raising money for our selected charity Youth Outreach.

Youth Outreach is a local charity which supports homeless and disadvantaged young people.  In the past few years we have been able to hand over a cheque of over $100,000 each year to the charity.

Competitors are asked to raise money through sponsorship and each year we have a prize for the largest amount raised and the greatest number of sponsors.  This year, the winners got the opportunity to abseil down a 60m wall at Youth Outreach.

Please print off the Sponsorship form and raise some money for Youth Outreach.  Return the forms to us after the Race.
