The Race

The Wellcome Team FEAR Junior Challenge is an adventure race for young people aged between 8 and 18.  It is held in Discovery Bay at the end of November every year.

Teams swim, run, mountain bike, coasteer, jump into water and solve puzzles around Discovery Bay.

An important part of the Race is the sponsorship that competitors raise for the charity Youth Outreach.  For the last few years we have been able to give over HK$100,000 to the Charity.

There are three age groups with the following categories:

Juniors (Teams of 3)
Under 9 (aged 8 on the day of the race)
Under 10 (aged 9 on the day of the race)
Under 11 (aged 10 on the day of the race)
 
Intermediates (Teams of 2)
Under 12 (aged 11 on the day of the race)
Under 13 (aged 12 on the day of the race)
 
Seniors (Teams of 2)
Under 14 (aged 13 on the day of the race)
Under 16 (aged 15 or under on the day of the race)
Under 19 (aged 18 or under on the day of the race)

 

  



Application Information

Please collect the following information for each Team Member:

Name, date of birth, address, school, any medical issues, chest measurement (in centimetres)

Parent's name, phone number and email address

If hiring a bike from Leo, the height of child would also be useful.

Fees

The cost per participant is $250 and you can pay through PayPal or by cheque.  No cash please.

Forms

A waiver form must be completed and signed by the parent of each competitor and returned to either the School Office at Discovery Bay International Schoolor to Team FEAR c/o Discovery Bay Marina Club, Discovery Bay
